The CITY of ROTTERDAM
The most modern city of the Netherlands originated as a fishing village in the 13th century. Rotterdam had developed into an industrial center and a powerful trading city when German bombers destroyed the city center and port in 1940.
Due to its unique architecture (the Markthal, the Erasmus Bridge, the Central Station, etc.), many visitors today make a cycling trip through this cosmopolitan city. The old Dutch-style houses can still be found in the historic Delfshaven, from where the pilgrims left in 1620 to America. The cultural offerings range from summer carnival to classical music and make the city a fierce competitor of Amsterdam.

by plane and train:
fly to Amsterdam-Schiphol and take the Intercity Direct to Rotterdam CS (30 minutes). Hence, a separate shuttle bus takes you to the SS Rotterdam, where you are already being treated to the beautiful city of Rotterdam.
